Point of clarification
|
Ladies and gentlemen,
contrary to what an article on a neo-right-wing blog and a subsequent article in the BILD newspaper suggest, the Jewish community in Stuttgart does not warn its members about so-called ‘no-go areas’, but provides information about anti-Israel demonstrations in the state capital Stuttgart (without evaluating their content in detail).
The right to demonstrate is a right of all Germans enshrined in Article 8 of the Basic Law. In Stuttgart, the state capital of Baden-Württemberg, demonstrations take place disproportionately often. The information provided by the Jewish community gives Jewish people in Stuttgart the opportunity to find out about upcoming anti-Israeli demonstrations and to avoid them if necessary.
At the same time, we would like to expressly thank the security authorities at state and municipal level for their outstanding work to protect Jewish people and Jewish institutions in our country, as well as for their trusting cooperation with the Jewish communities!
You are very welcome in Baden-Württemberg!
THE EXECUTIVE BOARD
Prof. B. Traub M. Kashi M. Rubinstein

P.S.:
|
The Jewish community has so far had no reason to assume that there are any ‘No Go Areas’ in Stuttgart or Württemberg at all
